To demonstrate unity and cultural solidarity, the Tooro Kingdom has generously donated 10 million shillings towards the upcoming Busoga royal wedding. Led by Prime Minister Stephen Kiyingi, a Tooro Kingdom delegation not only provided financial support but also used the opportunity to advocate for increased government support for cultural institutions.
During a symbolic act of cultural cooperation, Prime Minister Kiyingi presented a check of 10 million shillings to the Central Organizing Committee of the Royal Wedding. He emphasized the importance of cultural institutions as pillars of our society's heritage and stressed the need for government recognition and support in preserving the diverse cultural fabric.
The contribution from the Tooro Kingdom aligns with the belief in the value of preserving and celebrating cultural traditions within communities.
Other organizations also displayed their generosity by contributing to the festivities. Fountain Publishers donated 5 million shillings, while Equity Bank contributed 10 million shillings. Wanda Products went above and beyond by providing detergents for use during the wedding, contributing to a cumulative total of 30 million shillings.
