Bobi Wine Appoints New NUP Diaspora Leaders in a Covert Move, Imposes Stringent Guidelines

Bobi Wine, the President of the National Unity Platform (NUP), also known as Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, recently traveled to Europe on a secret expedition. His purpose was to oversee the election of new leaders for his party in Europe and issue new guidelines to invigorate the struggle for democracy in Uganda.

Accompanying Bobi Wine on this covert mission was his right-hand man and NUP Secretary General, David Lewis Rubongoya. Together, they facilitated the election process for the new team in Amsterdam, Netherlands, which took place discreetly and away from the public eye.

During the closed-door proceedings, Ms. Rebecca Naava was elected to lead the Netherlands-Belgium chapter of the NUP, with Kwiikitiza Bruce as her deputy, serving as Vice Chairperson. Hadijah Nakiyinji assumed the position of General Secretary, while Geoffrey Katumba and Fred Musoke were elected as the new treasurer and Publicity Secretary, respectively. Mr. Jonah Kayizi was appointed as the party mobilizer, as announced by Bobi Wine.

Furthermore, the occasion saw the confirmation of renowned human rights activist, Dr. Nico Schoonderwoerd, as the party's Ambassador to the European Union region. Mr. Kitunzi Robert was appointed as the overall NUP leader in Europe.

The Secretariat's role was limited to overseeing the election of mandated positions in accordance with the Party Constitution, including the Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, General Secretary, Treasurer, and Publicity Secretary. The election of the mobilizer was also conducted under the supervision of the visiting team from Kampala, based on a specific request.

The newly elected leadership has been entrusted with the responsibility of expanding the team further by appointing additional leaders at a later date, as they see fit.

Bobi Wine issued a directive to close all existing NUP/People Power WhatsApp groups, with a new group to be opened specifically for the Netherlands Belgium Chapter.

The newly appointed leadership expressed their gratitude to President Bobi Wine and his team for their commitment to establishing structures that will empower their activism in the diaspora.

"We would like to thank our members for entrusting us with these responsibilities, and we appeal for their support as we work towards achieving the party's objectives. We emphasize the importance of unity and reconciliation," said Hadijjah Nakiyingi, who pledged to restore the chapter's vibrancy.

Bruce Kwiikiriza described the new responsibilities as a "call for enhanced hard work" and assured his availability whenever duty calls.
