Basoga Angry At NBS TV For Negative Reporting At The Royal Wedding

Controversy surrounds the alleged 'sex ban' at the #BusogaRoyalWedding, raising concerns within the Basoga community. Isabalangira Samuel Nkuutu Zirabamuzaale has dismissed these claims through an official statement, as quoted in a tweet by New Vision.
However, just two days after the dismissal, NBS TV aired a lower third stating that there were sexual activities taking place at the wedding. This was further exacerbated by live footage showing empty seats, a photo that quickly spread across social media, much to the annoyance of Basoga loyalists who felt misrepresented. This dissatisfaction was expressed by aggrieved individuals.

A month ago, several media outlets reported that the Busoga Kingdom authorities had cautioned attendees, including subjects, against engaging in any sexual encounters on the day before and during the royal wedding, citing cultural and ritualistic reasons.

One media outlet quoted, "The chief traditionalist in the Busoga Kingdom has called upon all members of the tribe to uphold tradition and refrain from engaging in sexual relations on November 18, 2023, when King Wilberforce Nadiope Gabula will marry his queen, Jovia Mutesi."

Tomorrow, November 18, 2023, Nadiope will officially introduce the queen to the public at Christ Cathedral, Bugembe, with President Yoweri Museveni expected to be in attendance.

Following the ceremony, a reception will be held exclusively for select invited guests at the King's Place in Igenge. The rest of the Kingdom's subjects will celebrate and follow the main festivities from their respective counties. To facilitate this, large screens will be set up at various locations for residents to watch the wedding and reception events live.

Now, with the clarification provided, people are free to enjoy their marital rights without any restrictions or prohibitions.
