Tragedy struck as a royal team van headed from Kamuli to Jinja, the designated location for the Kyabazinga's wedding, was involved in a devastating accident. Reports indicate that six individuals have tragically lost their lives.
The incident occurred at the Nawantumbi Trading Centre on the Kamuli-Jinja Road, according to an official police report. In addition to the fatalities, eight individuals sustained injuries during the incident. The initial investigations suggest that the accident took place approximately 20 kilometers away from Kamuli. The vehicle involved was a super custom car with the registration number UAZ742U. Witnesses reported that the car, which was part of the Kyabazinga's royal wedding team escort, lost control and crashed into bystanders at approximately 10:40 a.m., resulting in the instant loss of six lives.
ASP Michael Kasadha, the Regional Police Spokesperson, has confirmed the incident. He stated that the injured victims were promptly transported to various medical facilities for treatment. Meanwhile, further inquiries into the accident are being conducted. The bodies of the deceased have been transferred to the mortuary of Kamuli General Hospital, where a postmortem examination will be performed.
