Subject to international clearance, Manchester United has finalized the acquisition of 20-year-old striker Rasmus Hojlund from Serie A club Atalanta.
The club has the option to extend the international player's contract by an additional season until June 2028. Before Saturday's friendly encounter against Lens at Old Trafford, he was introduced to the home crowd.
Hojlund informed the group It is no secret that I have supported this fantastic team since I was a young child, and I once had a dream of playing for Manchester United and leaving Old Trafford.
This chance to make that ambition a reality excites me tremendously, and I'm determined to repay the club's belief in me.
Hojlund joins Manchester United after playing in Serie A for Atalanta for one season. In 34 games across all leagues, he scored 10 goals, helping his team finish fifth and earn a spot in the UEFA Europa League this year.
Hojlund previously played for Sturm Graz in the Austrian Bundesliga after leaving Copenhagen, the team where he began his professional career.
Hojlund has six Danish caps and six goals to his name, including a hat-trick against Finland in a UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying match.
On Monday, August 14, Man Utd will host Wolverhampton Wanderers to open their Premier League season.
