Entebbe Airport Faces Surge in Passenger Traffic; Travelers Advised to Plan Ahead.

Entebbe International Airport has witnessed a significant increase in international passenger traffic between January and November 2023, according to recent data released by the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA). During this period, the airport recorded a total of 1,733,000 international passengers, marking a substantial surge of 315,000 passengers compared to the same period in 2022.

With the upcoming festive season, Entebbe International Airport expects a further rise in passenger numbers, particularly during the holiday period. In anticipation of increased traffic on the roads leading to the airport, Vianney Luggya, the Spokesperson of UCAA, has urged departing passengers to meticulously plan their journeys.

Luggya emphasized the importance of allowing extra time and advised travelers to arrive at the airport at least three hours prior to their scheduled departure time to mitigate potential inconveniences. By implementing this proactive measure, the aim is to prevent delays and ensure a smooth travel experience for all passengers.

In addition to urging passengers to plan ahead, Luggya also highlighted the availability of a convenient payment option for parking fees at the airport. Travelers can now pay for parking using mobile money, providing a hassle-free experience.

Luggya extended warm wishes to all Ugandans and users of the facilities at Entebbe International Airport, hoping for a pleasant and trouble-free experience during the festive season.

The surge in international passenger numbers at Entebbe International Airport not only highlights Uganda's growing prominence as a regional travel hub but also emphasizes the critical need for travelers to plan ahead during busy periods. By ensuring a seamless journey, passengers can contribute to a positive travel experience for all.
