Paul Joseph Put, the new Head Coach of Uganda Cranes, has announced the final 27-man squad that will travel to Morocco for the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier matches against Guinea and Somalia. Uganda is placed in Group G, alongside Algeria, Guinea, Botswana, Mozambique, and Somalia. The Cranes' first two fixtures, against Guinea and Somalia, will take place on November 17th and 21st, respectively, hosted in Morocco.
The team, comprising both local-based players and officials, is scheduled to depart for Morocco on Sunday at 10 PM via Uganda Airlines. They will join the foreign-based players who will travel directly to Berkane, Morocco, from their respective clubs. There is great anticipation for a strong performance as Uganda Cranes aims to secure their first-ever spot in the prestigious 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The squad departing from Uganda on Sunday includes goalkeepers Salim Omar Magoola, Isima Bin Rashid Abdul Watenga, and Jack Komakech; midfielders Bobosi Byaruhanga and Khalid Aucho; and forwards Denis Omedi and Milton Karisa.
