Kabale University Students still struggling for surcharge removal

Today 24th Oct 2023 ,the university  management has held a meeting with students  representative  who shared challenges  and misinformation  amongst students.

The Vice Chancellor said "i will clarify on these challenges  and agreed  solutions in this circular.

Surcharges.

The two consequential surcharges levied on studies for

a) Late rgistration , 30days after beginning  of every semester (UGX30000) registration 

b)Late payment fee (UGX50000) after 7th week of every semester .

The University senate has recommended  the removal of surcharge due to late payment of fees.This will be replaced with alate registration  fee of UGX 50000 once in a semester.

As 24th October  2023, Kabale University students boycotted  at main campus over increased surcharge fee on the tuition which ranged from shs.30,000 to shs.80,000

The finalized  plan is to be presented to University Council for approval in the next meeting.

The meeting  was finalized that the surcharge has been removed and replaced by a late registration fee of UGX50000 once in a semester.
